12-year-old injured in collision with car in Thurmaston

A 12-year-old boy was injured following a collision with a car in Thurmaston over the weekend.

The incident, which involved a white VW Golf car, happened on Humberstone Lane, near the junction with Silverdale Drive, at around 1.30pm on Saturday 5 May. The boy was riding a pedal bicycle at the time.

He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, where he remains in a stable condition. There were no other injuries reported in the incident.

Officers are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to it, to make contact.

Police Constable Andy Richardson said: “Enquiries are continuing into the collision and the circumstances surrounding it.”

“We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or the events leading up to it. Were you in the area at the time and see the cyclist or the car involved? Do you have dashcam footage which may be able to assist us in this investigation?”
