Police have arrested an 18-year-old woman in connection with the deaths of three teenagers in a road accident.
Trudy-Mae Kennel (18) and her boyfriend Ryan Barber (19) died in the crash, along with their friend, 18-year-old Will Louch.
The accident took place on Sunday 16 July at 4.35pm in Atherstone, Warwickshire, after their grey BMW veered off the road and collided into a tree.
A fourth teenager remains in hospital, where his condition is not thought to be life threatening. The four were travelling back from a weekend away in Snowdonia.
The wonan who was arrested was travelling in another vehicle at the time of the incident. She was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
She has been released under investigation, while police carry out their enquiries.
The principal of the Leicestershire college that Ryan and Trudi-Mae attended called them “model students” and offered her “deepest sympathies” to their friends and family.
She added: “Both Ryan and Trudi-Mae attended the Nuneaton Campus of North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College, Ryan as an apprentice on day release and Trudi-Mae had just finished her second year extended diploma in sport and exercise science.”
Staff at the college will be providing support for all students following the tragic event.
Detectives are still appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have seen the BMW before the accident to contact police on 101.
