Residents living near Stoughton and Oadby are being asked for their opinion on a new housing proposal.
Plans are currently being drawn up for a new housing development on land near Stoughton Road and Gartree Road. The proposed plan is to build over 300 homes, 30% of which will be social housing, on the site near to Shady Lane
Residents have been given a chance to raise any concerns they may have around the proposed development.
The owners of the land, Co-op have put forward a building application to Oadby and Wigston Borough Council outlining their proposed plans for development.
Councillor Neil O’Brien has written to local residents who may be affected by the proposed plans. He is encouraging residents to voice their opinions in a survey by 4 May.
A decision regarding the development of the land is expected to be made in summer or autumn of this year, and if the development is given the green light, construction will start in 2020.
