A man stabbed to death in Leicester city centre yesterday was a 22-year-old student attending a party in a block of flats.
The victim was wounded in Albion Street shortly before 4am on Saturday morning. He was taken to hospital where he subsequently died.
Police have issued an urgent appeal to students in the city for information.
It’s believed the victim was at a party in Albion Street, when he may have got involved in an argument, which spilled out into the street resulting in the fatal stabbing.
The party was attended by a number of students and the police would like to hear from anyone who was there.
Officers investigating the murder would also like to hear from taxi drivers and businesses in the area who may have important information for the inquiry.
A police spokesman said: “Were you opening or closing a business? Were you driving through the area? Did you see anything? Small details may seem insignificant to you but may help officers”.
If anyone has any information that could help the inquiry, please call 101 and quote incident 110 of 11 February.
