Police were called to Leicester city centre this morning following reports of a weapon being fired.
Armed Police were called to Humberstone Gate, at the junction of Vestry Street, at around 8.30am this morning.
A property was searched by officers under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
Nobody was inside the property but Police said a “BB gun was recovered”.
A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: “We received a report that someone had fired what was believed to be an air weapon from an address in Humberstone Gate, Leicester, into the street.“
“In the interests of public and police safety armed officers were deployed. An address was searched under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.“
“Nobody was inside the property but what was found to be a BB gun was recovered. No arrests have been made and inquiries are ongoing.”
