A man in his 20s was stabbed in Leicester city centre last night.
Police were called to Highcross Lane, near the Highcross Shopping Centre, at around 10.20pm yesterday, where they found the man with stab wound injuries. In the interest of public and officer safety, armed officers were also deployed to the scene.
The injured man has been taken to hospital for treatment.
A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident. He currently remains in police custody.
A scene preservation was in place while Police conducted their enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Detective Inspector Chris Brett said: “We are in the very early stages of enquiries and are speaking to people who were in the area at the time of the incident and gathering information.”
