Belgrave Gate reopens after City Centre stabbing

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Leicester City Centre in the early hours of this morning.

The victim was found by a police patrol at around 3.45am today (Sunday 2 July) outside Brighthouse on Belgrave Gate.

He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for a stab wound. He is said to be in a stable condition.

Access to the Haymarket car park was closed, with scene preservation in place from Mansfield Street to Belgrave Gate. These areas have since been reopened.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assault are in the early stages.

Four men were arrested at the scene for an unrelated public order offence.
