Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, changes are being introduced to recycling and waste collection services across Leicester and Leicestershire.
An increase in staff sickness levels is impacting some recycling and waste services.
This may result in general rubbish and food waste collections being prioritised and other services being suspended at short notice, such as recycling or bulky waste collections.
We have provided a summary of key changes to waste and recycling services in your council area below.
Leicester City Council
Both Freemen’s Common and Gypsum Close recycling centres are now closed, including the trade waste facility.

All other services are currently operating as normal.

The council has suspended their garden waste service since 23 March for a period of at least two weeks due to staff shortages.
