Live: Body of man found at pub in Leicester city centre

The body of a man has been found at a disused pub in Leicester city centre this morning.

Police were called to the Black Boy pub on Albion Street at around 10.45am today. It’s believed the body was found inside the pub.

Albion Street has been cordoned off by Police, as well as Chatham Street, where the entrance to the pub car park is.

Firefighters have also been seen using an aerial ladder platform to access the top of the Black Boy pub.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “Police were called to Albion Street in Leicester, just before 10.45am this morning after a body of a man was found inside a disused building.”

“The death is being treated as unexplained at this time and enquiries continue at the scene.”
