11-year-old riding bike killed in collision in Nuneaton

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision in Nuneaton yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened at around 2.40pm on Coleshill Road. A young boy riding a bike was involved in a collision with a car.

Emergency services attended and a doctor who was passing the scene also provided treatment to the 11-year-old boy.

The child was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry, where he was sadly pronounced deceased. His family has been informed and being assisted by a Family Liaison Officer.

A spokesperson for the Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Team said: “This is a tragic incident and we’re appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or was passing with dash cameras in this location to please contact us.”

“Our thoughts are with the boy’s family at this time.”

“A male has been arrested in connection with the incident and later released under investigation.“
