Police investigating a collision in which a bus crashed into the front of a house, discovered cannabis plants being grown inside the property.
The incident happened in Loughborough at the junction of Derby Road, Alan Moss Road and Belton Road, just after 11pm on Saturday.
Emergency services initially arrived at the scene after a number of vehicles were involved in an accident, which led to the bus colliding into the house.
There were no serious injuries in the collision and Police said the driver of one of the cars had left the scene prior to them arriving.
Officers had to force entry into the damaged property after no one responded. Once inside Police discovered the cannabis plants.
Officers confirmed the property was empty at the time of the incident.
A spokesperson for the Police said: “Officers knocked on the door of the property to check the welfare of the occupants.”
“When no answer was received, entry was forced and the property was found to be unoccupied. A number of cannabis plants were found inside.”
Enquires into the collision and the discovery of the cannabis plant continues.
