Injured man cut out of vehicle after crash in Stoneygate

Fire crews were called to a road traffic collision on London Road, Stoneygate last night.

The collision involved two cars and took place opposite Morland Avenue on London Road at 10.26pm.

One man was trapped inside his vehicle, with smoke pouring from the engine.

Two crews from Central Fire Station were sent to the scene, along with East Midlands Ambulance Service and an Air Ambulance.


The trapped man was cut out of the vehicle, and then assessed by the Air Ambulance doctor.

It’s believed the man’s injuries are serious and he was taken to hospital by road ambulance.
