Long delays on M1 Leicestershire after crash leaves vehicle on fire

Motorists are being warned of long delays on the M1 in Leicestershire this afternoon after a serious accident.

Two lanes have been closed on the M1 Southbound, just pass the Leicester Forest East service station. This has caused severe congestion going back to J22.

Leicestershire Fire & Rescue reported that two vehicles were involved in the collision, with one vehicle bursting into flames. All the occupants are out of the vehicles and on the hard shoulder.
