Cyclist in serious condition after hit and run in Leicester

A cyclist has been seriously injured following a hit and run incident in Enderby.

The non-stop collision happened this morning at around 3.18am and involved a grey Audi RS3 car and a cyclist.

The incident happened in Leicester Road, near the Foxhunter roundabout junction with Blaby Road and Enderby Road. The car was reported to have left the scene of the incident shortly afterwards.

The cyclist, a man in his 50s, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. He is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.


From initial enquiries, the Police believe the grey Audi RS3 car is likely to have significant impact damage to the front of the vehicle.

Officers are also appealing for anyone with any information in relation to the incident to get in touch. This includes the driver of a dark-coloured vehicle who is believed to have been in the area at the time of the collision and may have witnessed the incident.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hawkins said: “We are currently carrying out enquiries to locate the Audi vehicle and driver.”

“If you are the driver of this car, I urge you to make contact with us.”

“In addition, anyone who has any other information in relation to the collision should also make contact if you have not already done so.”

“If you happened to be in the area during the early hours of this morning, or have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area which could assist this investigation, please contact police.”
