A number of dazzling light shows will form the centrepiece of this years Diwali celebrations.
The Ocean of Light display will feature thousands of suspended lights in space. Another dazzling spectacle will use LED umbrellas to create moving rangolis.
The displays will take place during the Diwali light switch-on event at Cossington Street Recreation Ground on Sunday 16 October.
Other attractions across the two-week festival include a new exhibition at New Walk Museum, a Mela Bazaar and a family day at the Curve theatre.
Leicester’s Diwali celebrations are some of the biggest outside of India, with a record 37,000 people attending the light switch-on last year, and a record 41,000 attending Diwali Day itself.
