Investigation launched after death of woman in Leicestershire

An investigation has been launched following the death of a woman in Market Harborough.

Police were called shortly after midday on Thursday (21 February) following concerns for the woman at an address in Douglass Drive, Market Harborough.

When Police arrived, an ambulance and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were already at the property. 

The woman in her 70s was taken to hospital where she subsequently died. Her death is currently being treated as unexplained. 

Police had cordoned off a bungalow in Douglass Drive, while they conducted their enquiries. Officers were positioned at the front and back of the property while an inspection of the scene was carried out.

The scene preservation at the property has now been lifted.

The investigation into the ‘unexplained death’ continues.
