Driver crashes van into house then flees scene in Leicestershire

A driver has fled the scene after the van they were driving collided with a property in Loughborough.

There are visible signs of damage to the front of the house in a housing estate in The Osiers.

Police were called early this morning, just before 4am following the collision.

Thankfully the occupants of the property were not there at the time of the incident and no injuries have been reported. However damage has been caused to part of the property.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the crash and officers are appealing for them to come forward, as well as anyone who has any information regarding the collision, to contact police.

Sergeant Simon Williams said: “Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and we urge anyone with any information regarding the collision to contact us – including the driver of the vehicle at the time.”

“The incident happened in the early hours of the morning but if anyone happened to be in the area at the time, please make contact with us. Similarly if anyone has any CCTV or dashcam footage in the area and surrounding area of The Osiers, then please check this as you could hold vital information.”
