Family of Paresh Patel issue statement after his body is found

The family of Paresh Patel, whose body was found in Abbey Park yesterday, have issued a statement thanking the public for their help and support over the last three weeks.

Leicestershire Police confirmed last night that the body recovered from the canal in Abbey Park was that of the missing father-of-two.

Nitin Patel, the younger brother of Paresh said: “Tonight it is with the heaviest of hearts that we inform you that our son, husband, father, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, Paresh, has been taken from us.”

“We wanted to thank you all with everything that we have, for every single moment of your time, that you gave to us, to help us find Paz.”


“We appreciate it more than you will ever know and we hope that the kindness and care that you showed our family, we will one day, in some form, be able to return.”

“We respectfully ask that the details and requests for further information is left to Leicestershire Police to issue as they see fit.”

“We thank you once again, and at one last request, ask that you pray for our brother Paresh to Rest In Peace.”

Paresh went missing on Saturday 10 November. The 48-year was last seen at around 9pm on Leicester’s Belgrave Road.
