Fire breaks out in row of terraced houses in Leicester

A fire has broken out in a row of terraced houses in the Hinckley Road area of Leicester.

The fire broke out on Dunster Street earlier this morning and a total of five houses have been evacuated.

Fires crews confirmed the roof space on one the properties was ‘well alight’, and fire hoses were directed on the roof to extinguish the blaze.

Smoke could he seen bellowing across the city, as four fire crews worked to bring the fire under control.

The fire has now been extinguished and electrics to the property have been isolated.

Fire crews remain at the scene along with an ambulance. The road remains cordoned off.
