Large fire rips through buildings in Leicester

Leicester Fire and Rescue are dealing with a fire in the Belgrave area of the city this morning.

The blaze took place at a workshop on Harrison Road, which was believed to contain acetylene cylinders.

Four fire engines responded to the call, Two from Leicester East, one from Birstall and one from Leicester West.

The fire started in a workshop on Harrison Road

Western Power and Cadent were also called to isolate gas and electricity supplies.

The incident closed both Harrison Road and Gypsy Lane, while the incident was dealt with.

Cordons have now been reduced and Gypsy Lane has reopened. However part of Harrison road remains closed whilst a fire investigation takes place.
