Woman finds five masked burglars in her home in Hamilton

Five men wearing balaclavas broke into a woman’s home in Hamilton, pulling off her necklace and searching her property.

The robbery took place on Pickhill Road shortly after 8.30pm on Wednesday 3 January.

The victim was confronted by a man as she went into her kitchen, who pulled off the necklace she was wearing. Four other men then entered the property and started searching the house.

The first man is between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall and in his 20s. He is of a slim build and was wearing a balaclava, a black long-sleeved top and black jeans. He was also carrying a baseball bat.


The other men are white, of slim build and in their 20s. They were each wearing dark clothing and white, yellow and blue balaclavas.

While at the scene, officers discovered that another property on Pickhill Road had been broken into. The occupant was not at the property and it is not known if anything was stolen.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a silver Mercedes and a brown Volvo on Pickhill Road at the time of the incident.
