Frankie Valli impersonator pleads guilty to sexual offences

A 35-year-old Frankie Valli impersonator has pleaded guilty to 18 sexual offences.

Robin Maughan is already serving a 12-year sentence for offences including grooming and abusing two teenagers.

The man from Market Harborough admitted a further 18 offences at Leicester Crown Court yesterday (10th May) and will be sentenced on 23rd June.

The new charges faced by Maughan include offences with a number of boys and girls aged 13 to 16 that occurred over a 15 year period.

They include sexual touching, indecent assault and taking indecent images of children.

Detective Constable Rob Waddington, who led the investigation, said: “As a result of the publicity surrounding his previous conviction, more victims came forward, and we worked to gather evidence to be able to put these charges to him.”

“I want to reassure the public that just because a defendant may already be in prison, we take all reports seriously and will investigate all allegations.”

The police have urged other victims of Maughan who haven’t been able to come forward for whatever reason to make contact with them.
