Gang who supplied £1m of drugs jailed for 100 years

A gang of fifteen people have been sentenced to more than 100 years in prison for their part in supplying over £1 million worth of Class A drugs across the country.

The gang which contains a number of members from Leicester or Leicestershire, were convicted after a nine month investigation by the East Midlands Special Operations Unit.

The operation seized cocaine and crack cocaine from locations across Leicestershire, Northampton, London and Gloucestershire.

A police spokesman said: “More than £1,000,000 worth of wholesale powder cocaine, £72,000 worth of crack cocaine and £52,000 worth of herbal cannabis were seized.”

The street value of these drugs is considerably more.

The police also seized more than £200,000 in cash and other possessions including three top-of-the-range Audi’s as part of the operation.

The individual sentences for the men ranged from 16 years to 2 years in prison.
