Warning after girl approached in supermarket car park in Ashby

Police have issued a warning after a girl was approached by two men in a car park in Leicestershire.

The 16-year-old was standing in a supermarket car park in Ashby on Friday 8 November, when two men approached her in a black VW Golf.

The men spoke to the girl for a short time and then drove off. She wasn’t harmed in the incident.

Police are currently looking into the incident and are trawling through local CCTV taken from the area.

Local schools have been made aware and have been advised to reiterate stranger danger advice to their students.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “The girl was standing in the car park when two men in a black Volkswagen Golf approached her and spoke to her briefly.”

“The occupants of the Golf then drove off. There was no physical contact.”

Police have not revealed which supermarket car park the incident took place in.
