Hitman who killed mum from Hinckley demands IVF treatment to become a dad

A hitman who murdered a mum-of-two from Hinckley has demanded £8,000 IVF treatment so he can father a child from jail.

Aaron Newman, 28, was sentenced to 31-years in prison for shooting Hayley Pointon when he was hired to kill her boyfriend.

Newman argues he has the “right” to become a dad and should be given funding for IVF so his girlfriend can get pregnant because he can’t have sex with her behind bars.

Hayley’s children are being raised by her mum Kerry, who told the Sunday People that Newman should lose his rights to fatherhood for murdering her daughter.

Newman was hired to kill Hayley’s boyfriend Nigel Barwell in 2013 but he and his accomplice Aaron Power accidentally shot Hayley instead.

Hayley died before paramedics arrived at her home in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

CCTV footage, mobile phone records and two vehicles linked Newman and Power to the offence.

Both men were found guilty of the murder in 2015 and sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum jail term of 31 years.
