A homeless man from Leicester has been given a helping hand from a Good Samaritan after appearing on TV.
Jimmy was living rough in a garage after he lost his job and the death of his mother. His story was featured on ITV during the recent freezing weather and the story went viral.
It was seen by Jamie Richardson from Leeds who helped him move to the city, find accommodation, bought him clothes and his first takeaway for 3 years.
Jamie said when he saw the story on TV, it reminded him of some of the situations he had been in himself, but he had been lucky enough to have people around to help him. He wanted to do the same for Jimmy.
Jamie even paid for Jimmy to stay in a hotel for two weeks out of his own pocket, while he tried to find accommodation for him.
Jimmy has now moved to Yorkshire and helps out in Jamie’s carpet shop for free as a way of thanking him for all he’s done.
He’s now claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance and is trying to secure full time employment.
Jimmy can now stand on his own two feet thanks to the kindness of a stranger.
