Leicester City Centre Street cordoned off following assault

Two men have been arrested following an assault outside a nightclub in King Street in Leicester City Centre.

The attack took place just after 5am this morning (Saturday 5 November). A section of King Street has been cordoned off while enquiries are being carried out.

The victim sustained injuries to his neck and is currently receiving treatment at Leicester Royal Infirmary where he is in a stable condition.

Two men, aged 20 and 19 have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently in police custody.

Neighbours and shopkeepers told Leicester Updates that these type of incidents occur regularly on the street.

Police had to close King Street a few months earlier after a man was found injured in a ‘suspected shooting’ incident.

Police have appealed to anyone who was in the area in the early hours of this morning and saw what happened to come forward.
