The Leicester Comedy Festival kicks off today, featuring over 800 shows over 19 days.
This year’s festival runs from 8 to 26 February, with something for every comedy fan. The performances will feature at various venues across the city including De Montfort Hall, Town Hall, Hansom Hall and The Guildhall.
Among the high-profile names lined up this year include Stewart Lee (De Montfort Hall on Wednesday 8 February) and Johnny Vegas (Hansom Hall on Saturday 25 February).
The festival delivers huge benefit for the city, adding an estimated £3m to the local economy. Around 57 per cent of attendees come from outside of Leicester.
The festival is being supported by Leicester City Council following the withdrawal of title sponsors Dave TV.
