Boy band 5 After Midnight have made it through to the X Factor final. It’s an incredible achievement for the group and their front man Kieran Alleyne, a local lad from Leicester who’s within touching distance of achieving his dreams.
Kieran, 21, from Eyres Monsell and bandmates Nathan Lewis and Jordan Lee battled it out with the three remaining acts on Saturday night. The group took to the stage to perform East 17’s Christmas classic Stay Another Day and Stevie Wonder’s hit Signed, Sealed, Delivered.
The group were ecstatic when they learned they had made it to the final.
Kieran is no stranger to the limelight and started singing at the age of 10. After singing in a number of school productions, he successfully applied to be Michael Jackson in a West End show – performing and balancing his school work at the same time.
Aged 16, he started his solo career which took off following a successful EP and a supporting slot with JLS on tour.
5 After Midnight, who are mentored by Louis Walsh, were formed five weeks before their first audition on the show.
Kieran’s older brother, Dervan Alleyne, is urging the the city to back Kieran. He said “It will be incredible for a local lad to achieve his dream and be another success story for the city”.
The live X Factor final will take place at Wembley Arena next Saturday at 8pm.
