Leicester named one of the top food destinations in the UK

Leicester has been named as one of top food destinations in the U.K. by travel website Booking.com.

The city featured at number eight in the Top 10 food destinations in the UK, beating cities like London and Manchester.

The ranking was based on feedback from 118 million traveller’s on Booking.com. Padlow, a picturesque village in Cornwall came in first place, followed by Ludlow in Shropshire and Birmingham was ranked in third.

According to the travel website, three quarters of global travellers would consider travelling somewhere that’s specifically known for its gastronomic delights.

With the city’s large cultural heritage, there are many different food choices from around the globe. The newly opened Tipu Sultan restaurant in Oadby, known for its luxurious decor and majestic dining, is one of the newest additions to the city.

Other popular restaurants include Crafty Burger in St Martins Square, which tops TripAdvisor’s list of places to eat in the city, and Italian restaurant OGGI, which features at number 6 on the site.
