Leicester City completed the signing of Kelechi Iheanacho from Manchester City last night for a fee believed to be in the region of £25million.
The 20-year-old striker has signed a five year contract and becomes the fourth addition to Craig Shakespeare’s squad ahead of the new campaign.
The striker is regarded as one of the most promising young talents in the Premier League and fans are relishing the prospect of him teaming up with Jamie Vardy to form a potent strikeforce.
Ihaenacho will wear the no.8 shirt and joins fellow Nigeria internationals Wilfred Ndidi and Ahmed Musa, as the team continue their pre-season preparations.
Iheanacho said: “I know the ambition of the team and speaking with the manager, he let me know what I need to do – to help the team achieve what they want. I was convinced and I’m happy to be here.”
Leicester City manager Shakespeare added: “It’s a great signing for us. Kelechi is an enormously talented player that has shown a huge amount of promise at every level in which he’s played.”
The Foxes have also turned down a bid of £20m for Demarai Grey from Bournemouth.
