Police cordon off street in Leicester after stabbing

Police have cordoned off a street in Leicester after a man was stabbed earlier today.

The incident happened in Appleton Avenue, near Stocking Farm, at about 1pm this afternoon.

The man was found seriously injured in the street with stab wound injuries.

It’s believed the victim was a teenager, but this has not been officially confirmed. He has been taken to hospital for treatment.

A cordon remains in place at the scene while officers carry out their enquiries.

Police say their enquiries are in the early stages and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or knows anything about the incident to come forward with information.

Anyone who can help the investigation is urged to call the Police on 101 quoting incident 251 of 31 October.
