Leicestershire could see hottest day of the year on Monday

Leicestershire will be basking in sunshine this week as temperatures are set to soar.

Monday could see one of the hottest days of the year so far, with a maximum tempreture of 23 °C in Leicestershire.

The Met Ofice expects a bright and sunny start to the day, with some cloud increasing through the day, but remaining dry and warm.

The good news continues as the Met Office predicts temperatures to rise throughout the week with dry sunny spells and becoming ‘very warm’ in places by Thursday.

The warm weather will be seen across much of the country. Alex Burkill, meteorologist at the Met Office, said: “We could see highs of 25°C in London, the East Midlands and East Anglia, which will get the best of the weather.”

This means we could see temperatures on par with Athens and Barcelona in the UK this week.

So enjoy the weather and remember to stay well hydrated.
