A teenager from Leicestershire has been charged with the brutal murder of an 87-year-old man from Staffordshire.
Arthur Gumbley, known to his friends and family as ‘Bob’, died in hospital three weeks after Jason Wayne Wilsher broke into his home and attacked him.
Wilsher broke into Mr Gumbley’s home on 21 November 2017. He stole jewellery, cash and a purse belonging to his late wife.
His victim was later found lying on the floor and covered in blood. He died in December, three weeks after the attack.
Detectives from Staffordshire Police charged the 19-year-old from Barlestone Road, Bagworth, with the murder of Mr Gumbley.
Wilsher has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Stafford Crown Court on Friday (5 October).
