London Bridge: Attacker wearing hoax explosive device shot dead by Police

A number of people have been stabbed and a man has been shot dead by police in an attack at London Bridge.

The Met Police have confirmed that they are treating the attack as a terrorist incident and that the suspect was wearing a hoax explosive device.

The Police has issued the following statement about the attack this afternoon.

“Police were called at 1:58pm on Friday, 29 November, to a stabbing at premises near to London Bridge.”

“Emergency services attended, including officers from the Met and City of London Police.”

“A number of people have been stabbed. We will provide further details of those injured when possible.”

“A man has been shot by police at the location.“

“At this early stage, the circumstances relating to the incident remain unclear. However, as a precaution, we are currently responding to this incident as though it is terrorist-related.”

Offices around the area are on lockdown and London Bridge station is closed, while trains are not stopping, British Transport Police said.
