Police say fire in Loughborough car forecourt was arson

A fire in a car dealership in Loughborough overnight has been confirmed as an arson attack.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward, after ten cars were damaged in the blaze.

The vehicles were parked in the compound of Sandicliffe Ford on Derby Road, when the fire was started between 12:09am and 12:19am.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service attended the fire and have since carried out their enquiries at the scene this morning. They have determined the fire was started deliberately.

Police have said from initial enquiries it is believed two people were seen acting suspiciously in the area.

No-one was hurt in the incident.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have been walking or driving in the area and witnessed anything that may help with the investigation.
