A man has been arrested this morning on suspicion of murder and burglary, following the death Howard Staff in Wigston.
The 19-year-old was arrested at an address in Leicester. He remains in custody where he is being questioned by detectives.
Mr Staff, 66, was injured during a burglary at his home address in Gibson Close on Monday (13 January). He died in hospital the following morning.
Four men – two aged 20, one aged 21 and one aged 19 – arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday have been released under investigation.
Detective Inspector Jonathan Blockley said: “A man has been arrested this morning on suspicion of murder and burglary following the death of Howard Staff.”
“Our investigation remains ongoing and we continue to appeal to anyone with information to come forward.
“If you have any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem we want to hear from you.
“A man has lost his life, a family is devastated and we owe it to them to find who was responsible.”
