A man has died following a fatal collision in Loughborough today.
The collision happened shortly after midnight this morning (Sunday 17 May) on Ashby Road (A512).
A red BMW 5 series veered off the road and crashed into a lamppost and a wall
The driver, a man in his thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for seven hours while officers responded at the scene. It has since been reopened.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “A red BMW 5 series, which was travelling towards the town centre, left the road before colliding with street furniture and a wall which in turn damaged five unattended parked cars.”
“We would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand to get on touch. Alternatively anyone who has dashcam footage relating to the collision, is asked to make contact with the police.”
