A man has died in hospital after being pulled out of a canal in Leicester.
The man was found near the rowing club at Upperton Road on 8 August at 3.20pm. Police are treating his death as unexplained.
The man has not been named but police said it was not Michal Zygan, who has been missing from his home in Leicester for two weeks and was last spotted near the canal.
It is unclear how the man ended up in the water.
Police, firefighters and paramedics attended the stretch of river near the rowing club, after reports of someone being in the water.
A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police said: “The man found in the river has subsequently died in hospital.“
“The death is being treated as an unexplained death and inquiries are ongoing.”
