Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a man’s body, and a woman with serious injuries, inside a house in Ashby.
Officers were called to a property on Holland Crescent at 3:20pm on Thursday 9th March, following reports a woman had been seriously injured.
Once inside the house, police discovered the body of a man and the injured woman. A young child was also in the house who was unharmed.
The woman was air lifted to hospital, where she remains in a critical but stable condition.
The young child is being cared for by relatives.
Police have said it’s unclear what may have caused the man’s death. A post mortem will be carried out later today.
The investigation is in its early stages and police are trying to piece together what happened inside the house.
Detectives say they are not looking for anyone in connection with the incident. Local residents have been asked to remain calm and should not be concerned for their personal safety.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone in the area at the time, who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.
