Man found injured in Leicestershire street has died

A man who was found seriously injured in a street in a Leicestershire village has died in hospital.

Paramedics found the man lying unconscious in Main Street, Blackfordby, near Ashby on Saturday night.

The 55-year-old man was taken to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham by Ambulance. He died of his injuries on Monday.

Officers have made a number of enquires and trawled through CCTV footage from the night. They believe his death is not suspicious.


A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “The ambulance service were called to Main Street, Blackfordby, at around midnight on November 10 after a 55-year-old man was found injured in the street.”

“He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham and it was reported to the police during the early hours of Sunday morning.”

“Enquiries have been carried out and the circumstances of the death are not believed to be suspicious.”

Police have not released the identity of the man and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
