Man grabs 18-year-old woman in alleyway in Leicester

Police are appealing for information after an 18-year-old woman was grabbed by a man in an alleyway earlier today in Braunstone Town.

The victim was walking along the alleyway between Woodcote Road and Staplehurst Avenue which runs behind Millfield Primary School at around 3pm today.

As she walked she was suddenly approached from behind by an unknown man who grabbed her around her waist. The victim managed to break free and ran home for help

The attacker is described as white with a tanned complexion, between 30 and 40 years old and was wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. He was last seen running towards Brockenhurst Drive.

Sergeant Adam Hastie said: “The victim has obviously been left distressed by the incident and thankfully managed to break free and get help.”

“Officers are in the area conducting enquiries in relation to this incident but I’d like to appeal to anyone who may have information about what happened or may have seen the man in the area before or after.”

“Any information you may have, no matter how insignificant it could seem, please get in touch as it could be useful to our investigation.”
