A 16-year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, after a man was hit by a car in the Belgrave area of the city.
The incident happened on Canon Street at around 9:45pm on Thursday (7 February), leaving the man with serious injuries.
Police were told that a brick or large stone was thrown through the window of a house in nearby Glendon Street. Three people indoors left the property to see what had happened and walked along Canon Street.
One of them, a 23-year-old man from Leicester, was then hit by a white BMW, which then collided with a parked vehicle. The BMW driver made off from the scene.
The victim was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. His condition is described as stable, but his injuries could be life-changing.
Police arrested the 16-year old an address in Thurcaston Road. He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Tim Lindley said: Our investigation is stil in its early stages and we would like to speak to anyone who was in Canon Street or the surrounding area at the time of the incident.”
