A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to the scene just after midnight this morning, after the pedestrian was knocked down in Harborough Road in Oadby.
The man has been taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham with what have been described as “life-threatening injuries”.
No details about the identity of the victim have been revealed. Nobody else was injured in the incident.
Following the collision, Harborough Road was closed between Queen Street and Uplands Road for most of the night.
The road has now been reopened.
