A man has died following a collision on the A46 near Six Hills in Leicestershire.
The accident happened at around 5.45am this morning (2 March) and is believed to have involved a single vehicle.
It is believed the car, a silver Mini, was travelling northbound along the A46, close to the A6006 junction, when the collision occurred.
One of the occupants of the car, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second occupant has been taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The road is currently closed in both directions from the A6006 Paddy’s Lane to the junction with Back Lane and Station Road, Willougby-on-the-Wolds, while officers investigate.
A police spokesman said: “If anyone was travelling in the area around the time of the incident and saw the collision or the Mini prior to it happening, please call Leicestershire Police.”
