Police name man killed in collision in Leicestershire

A motorcyclist who was killed in a collision in Wistow has been named by Leicestershire Police.

Steven Duval, 55, from Leicester, died in a crash at the crossroads of Kilby Road, Kibworth Road and Leicester Road on Thursday 26 September.

The collision also involved a blue Mini One car. The driver of the car was reported to have left the scene of the incident on foot.

Steven was taken to the University Hospital of Coventry, but sadly passed away.

His family have paid tribute to him, saying they will “cherish their memories of him”.

The family statement said: “Steven was a loving husband, best friend to his wife Helina, father to wonderful sons Marty and Joseph, stolen from us too soon. Everyone who knew Steve will miss him dearly and cherish their memories of him.”

Enquiries remain ongoing into the collision and officers continue to appeal to anyone with any information to make contact.

This includes a woman who is believed to have stopped at the scene of the incident to help.

Detective Constable Charlotte Wright said: “We previously appealed to speak to a woman who we believe stopped at the scene following the incident to help. If this was you, please make contact with us as we believe you can assist us with our investigation.”

“We are also keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle beforehand. If you were driving in the area of Leicester Road, either to or from Newton Harcourt, around the time of the collision, please check any dashcam footage you may have to see if this could assist us.”
