Man killed in two-car crash in Leicestershire

A man has died after his car collided with another vehicle near the A46 in Leicestershire.

Emergency services were called to the fatal accident on Monday 4 February, at about 8.25pm, in Seagrave Road, Thrussington.

The incident involved a silver Volkswagen Passat Estate car and a grey Range Rover vehicle.

The driver of the Volkswagen vehicle, a 57-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman in her 40s, who was driving the Range Rover vehicle, was taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. She has since been discharged from hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward with any information they may have.

Detective Constable Seamus Burns said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who saw the vehicles before the collision, to make contact.”

“If you stopped and assisted at the scene and have not yet spoken to us, we also urge you to get in touch.
