Police cordon house after man shot in Leicester street

A man has been taken to hospital after being shot in the leg in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to a property on Victoria Road East in the Northfields area of the city. They have cordoned off a property on the street and the pavement area outside.

A 22-year-old man was shot in the leg outside the house. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police are still at the scene of the incident conducting their investigations. No arrests have been made yet.


A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “We were called to a property in Victoria Road East just after 1am this morning after a 22-year-old man was shot in the leg.”

“It is believed this was an isolated incident, which happened outside the property in the street.”

“Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Leicestershire Police on 101.”
