Man stabbed multiple times in Leicestershire street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed multiple times last night in Loughborough.

The incident happened in Victoria Street at about 8pm yesterday evening. Eyewitnesses reported seeing up-to four people running away from the scene.  

Members of the public rushed to help the victim, who had been stabbed at least three times.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police, said: “At 8.20pm yesterday (Thursday 30 January) we received a report that a man had been stabbed in Victoria Street, Loughborough, close to the junction with Bedford Street.”

“The victim, a man in his 30’s has been taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are in the early stages.”

Enquires into the incident remain ongoing and officers are appealing for any witnesses to the attack to come forward with information. If you think you can help Police please contact them on 101.
