Man rescued after performing yoga pose on 30ft ledge in Leicester city centre

A man had to be rescued by emergency services after climbing a 30ft building ledge in Leicester city centre.

He was spotted on CCTV footage performing what appeared to be a yoga pose on the building.

The man had climbed up the former British Home Stores (BHS) building in Gallowtree Gate, where he got stuck in the early hours of Thursday morning (February 28).

A passerby who was returning home from work also captured the incident on his mobile phone.

After becoming concerned for the safety of the man, he called emergency services.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and helped the man to safety using a ladder.

It is still unclear how and why the man ended up being stuck on the building ledge. However, Leicestershire Police said that it appeared to be a ‘drunken incident’.
